It is with deep sorrow that we share that Rick Saler passed away at Minnedosa Health Centre at the age of 69.
Rick is deeply loved and will be forever missed by his wife Sheryl, daughter Melissa (Michael) Grenier, son Matthew (Adrienne) Saler and four very special grandchildren Evander and Aubrielle Grenier, Clara and Natalie Saler.
Rick was born in Brandon Mb and was raised on the family farm on the Riverdale road near Rapid City. He attended school in Rapid City and high school in Elton and Minnedosa. Rick farmed for several years and then relocated to Minnedosa where he continued to do farmland work as a heavy equipment operator which he loved to do.
Through out his life, Rick played baseball, hockey and golf. Eventually he enjoyed being a hockey referee. He especially enjoyed watching Matthew and the senior Minnedosa Bombers play hockey. He would tell you that he got his most enjoyment out of watching his grandchildren’s activities as well.
Rick served on a number of boards and was a councillor for the RM of Saskatchewan and the town of Minnedosa. Rick served as a volunteer Fire Fighter in Minnedosa for many years
Rick is predeceased by his parents Louis and Elaine Saler. Rick is survived Sheryl, Melissa, Matt and their families. Brother Randy (Cindy) Saler, sister Joanne (Ken) Landry, brother-in-law Brian (Connie) Simpson. Uncles Tony (Linda) Saler and Emile Saler as well as many cousins.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
